My Garage Door Does Not Have A Torsion Spring

My garage door does not have a torsion spring.

The pulleys rotate and pull the cables which lift the door on each side. By using larger springs you can in most cases quadruple your spring life while only doubling the cost of the springs. This occurs when your motor tries to open the door but the torsion spring does not comply as a result the garage door opener is forcing the door to open and can subsequently bend it at the top section. You will also avoid extra work down the road.

If your garage door springs have lasted less than five years or if you plan to live where you are for many years you may want to try the extra long life torsion springs. Ideally it does not have any impact on how the garage door functions and is simply a technical identification system. Use a ladder to reach the torsion spring and raise the door. Be very heavy and the one good spring will probably not have enough strength to hold the door open.
